right ive just layed over 200...100mmx100mm (4x4) tiles, apart from the wall being out, gone like a dream. now ive grouted them, bits at a time, but no matter how quick i seem to go its setting on the tiles as quick as i can wipe it off. its took me longer to clean the tiles, than it has to lay them. the stuff ive used is adheshive and grout all in one. is there a better way,(quicker) or better grout to use ,because surely proffessional tilers dont muck about like this. or is it just a labour of love, and elbow grease????????
cheers,RIGGS.

your right about the grout ..the stuff you are using is rubbish ..go to a tiling shop and ask them what grout they use ..then buy some of that ..the grout i use can easily cover 8 to 10 square yards before i need to clean it off and then a warm damp sponge does the trick easily....this grout comes as a powder ..never buy pre mixed

After wiping the excess grout with a damp sponge, allow to dry for a FEW minutes, when it starts to feel flakey, then wipe again with a dry cheese cloth which can be purchased at a hardware store.I do it all time on my properties. It'll create powder though, and you'll need to clean the cheese cloth periodically.

Powdered grout is better, mix to your own requirements, the fix n grout stuff goes off far too quick.

Plaese use a damp sponge and make sure that your mix of the grouting is correct.

Are you using a wet sponge to wipe off? Grouting it a b*tch, I always hated that job and had to really work at it.

Maybe you are grouting too big an area, just do small areas and then it won't dry out too quick

Proffesionals use separate ones, the grout is runnier and easier to wipe. Been there, done that!

I've found powdered grout to be better, doesn't smear as much.

using grout/adhesive makes it harder to remove, just grout wipes away easier
