I have a five foot by two and a half foot granite table top which has no holes cut in it. Is this okay to lie flat in a pickup flatbed? The delivery truck I know has those teepee things to tilt it up on. How important is that if you have a small top? If I get delivery it is 2-3 hundred dollars so I want to carry it myself if it is okay.

How far do you have to take it? Any bumpy roads?
To be safe, you need to have it on its edge. But it will travel flat if you are gentle.
The best way might be to make a support stand out of 2x4s that will go in the back of the pick-up, 2x4 are inexpensive. Just build 3 triangles and connect them together to make the stand long enough to support the granite.

I suggest laying a sheet of plywood down on the truck bed and then laying the granite on top of that. It will not break but it is a pain to pick up (get your fingers underneath) since it will weigh about 250 pounds. That being said you will be fine!

No. A cranite countertop like this must be transported vertically, or standing on edge, not laying flat. Lay it flat and you are liable to crack it during transport.

You will need to place bearer's (posts) under the worktop. A pallet would be good. Just make sure your truck is up for the job and drive carefully. Don't forget to get some help as they are so heavy.

It should be transported vertically. Less likely to crack or break, just like a glass truck.
