bought those cheapy roll up vinyl blinds & painted them? If so, what kind of paint did you use. Also, what about covering them with fabric? Would'nt you just use a spray on adhesive to get the fabric to adhere?

I want to install a pedestal sink in our half bath. The pipes come up from the floor rather than the wall. Is that the correct configuration for a pedestal sink? We are using the Kohler "Memoirs" brand sink.

What type of paint would you use on storm door? It's metal exterior covering a solid wood core.

I just moved to a new place a month ago. I hooked up my washing machine and it worked fine until a few days ago. It won't fill up. As the water is going into the tub, it's draining out. I had the appliance repair man here, and he told me that the drain pipe wasn't long enough, thus not creating a vacuum to keep the water in the tub.. I had to lengthen the drain pipe in order to fix the problem.

My question is : Can this possibly be true? It makes no sense. How could it work for a month, and suddenly not work anymore.. how could the drain pipe be long enough for a month, and not now?

I have allways wondered why you can rotate the plate on the stapler to make it flare the ends of the staple out instead of crimp them inward. The only use i found of was back in school to do this to piss your teacher off. But what is it really for? Billy, In So Cal

Once you wash a shirt, often the decal gets cracked or fades. I once heard that if you had an iron and (I THINK) wax paper, you could "refresh" or "Fix" the cracking. Does anyone know? And if you do know, what is the best procedure?

In front of the garage, there are two joints where the pieces just barely reach each other. Also, there's a little bit that's caroded so water can drip out. I was thinking brown (the gutters are brown) plastic (electrical) tape for a temporary fix 'cause I haven't got the money right now to do it correctly. Any other ideas for quick cheap fixes to my gutters?

Hi

After a heavy down pour, I have started to get a horrible smell in my dining room (which is under the bathroom) as well as the bathroom itself? Any ideas before I call out a plumber?

I recently purchased a flat and the recessed halogen lights in one room sometimes work but regularly do not. They are on two normal switches on one side of the room and two dimmers on the other. Sometimes they turn themselves on when I am in the room but then go off again. I am having problems accessing the wiring as I can't get into the space above the ceiling. Any ideas?

I just moved to a new house and I was trying to change a ceiling light in the master bedroom but I can't find the breaker box. Of course I need to hire an electrician to do the job if I can't find the box so he/she can do it for me but I was wondering if there is a way for me to change the light without having access to the breaker box to kill the power to that section of the house.

I must note that I have a braker box but it only turns the power off a different section of the house. I have followed the cables but still I can't find the braker box.

So just to summarize, --I do not need to get guidance on how to find the breaker box--. I need to know how to change the light without having access to the braker box to switch the power off.

I know it is not recommended and I know it is risky that is why I am not doing it (yet :) )

Thank you for your assistance.

while cooking I threw a breaker. I went to the box and turned what I thought was the breaker for the kitchen back on, it wasn't, it was for the family room. I turned it back on and then turned on the breaker for the kitchen. The kitchen stuff came back on, but now the lights and tv won't turn back on in the family room. I believe that there is a certain way to reset the entire breaker box and an order you have to go through to reset them. It's specific and if you don't do it in order, then it doesn't work. Please help if you know how to fix the problem. Thanks
