I want to install a pedestal sink in our half bath. The pipes come up from the floor rather than the wall. Is that the correct configuration for a pedestal sink? We are using the Kohler "Memoirs" brand sink.

On Most of the pedestal sinks the leg is hollow you will have measure how far out the plumbing is from the wall. on kohlers website you can get measurements of sink.

The pedestal should be hollow; it should fit your pipes. Talk to the place you purchase(d) the sink, and bring a photo of your pipes, to confirm that it's doable.

It would have a better appearance if all your plumbing was coming out of the wall a couple of feet off the floor.
