I have flat 1" wide strips of wrought iron (avereage thickness) and want to know if it's easy or difficult to drill into. Also, what size drill bit should I use?

Should be easy enough. the hole size depends on the application. However, if you go with too big of a bit, you will weaken the work piece

yeah you can drill through rod iron just drill slow and apply lots of pressure. If you drill to fast with out an oil or some kind of lubricant you will burn up the drill bit and not be able to drill very many holes.

Wrought Iron is pretty easy to drill dont forget to center punch where you want the holes as this keeps the drill bit from wandering. What size hole do you want in it ?? that is what determines what size drill bit

Wrought iron can be drilled but make sure to apply oil lubricants and drill it gently.

A drill press would make quick work of it, but a hand drill will work, too. As for bit size, depends on how big the hole needs to be, doesn't it? If the hole has to be large (> 1/4") use a smaller pilot bit and work to the finish size. Using a punch to help center the drilll will help, too.

It's kinda hard to do, becauce it has been heated witch case hardens the metal. You can still drill it just use a good titannium bit and use some oil to cool the bit as you drill

First use center drill, then 1/4 drill, then up to the size that you want to drill...If you have cabal drill is best...regular drill is OK, make sure don't use wood drill, you are going to burn you drill bid.

size doesnt matter. what you really need to know is hardness
(a materials ability to resist scratching) wrought iron is rather soft compared to most drill bits. so it should not matter

Pilot drill first, then drill what size you need. Use cutting oil as a lubricant.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/Sm82i
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.
