So for $800 you are buying 40 square yards of carpet. A square yard is 27 square feet so you have a total of 1080 square feet of room. Divide that by the width of the room, 15 feet. Your room is 72 feet long. BTW 15x72 is a bowling alley and should definitely have hardwood floors not carpet! Just kidding, but it sounded good! Anyhow 800=40 square yards 40/ 5yards (15 feet) = 8 yards(24 feet)

It is 9sq.ft = 1 square yard so it 180 square feet 9*20=180
