Yes, but it is not recommended. You will have to pump the septic tank more frequently.

There are some variables to consider before you do. How big is your tank? How much of a load do you normally place on the system? In GA, if you want a disposal with a new septic system, the tank size must be increased 500 gal. The thinking is that the undigested materials introduced to the system will need more time to process (be digested by the enzymes) thus increasing the amount of solids in the tank. There's also the probability of introducing more grease into the tank. If you've ever witnessed a tank being pumped you'll no what I'm talking about. That layer of scum floating near the top of the tank is grease, wax from soaps, etc. There is a point where this layer becomes so thick that it will back up over the inlet tee and clog the system. If you have a 1000 gal tank and a small family (less load), you probably can get away with installing one. However, if you're already loading it to capacity, it's probably not a good idea. Good Luck, Steve PS. You asked about drain fields. No it won't affect the drain field. If you have a problem it will be in the tank, but nothing having the tank pumped won't fix.

If you are referring to a disposal under the sink, the answer is yes. But, in any septic system, be sure to treat it regularly in order to decrease the gas build up.

Yes. Just remember, some things do not break down in septic system and result in more frequent pumping of tank. eg. coffee grounds, egg shells, bones.
