Sounds like pink is one of the toughest colours to paint over. I have to use a white base coat in a corner but the pink still comes out. I want to paint the wall light blue now. How can I do it?

in the 1980,s i had top quality insulllation blown into my
townhouse attic. no cost savings, the ac at that time was
one half ton too small, now i have new right sized unit, some
people tell me townhouses are connected by firewalls and
and unless my next door neighbor has insullation blown in at
same time it won,t do any good. i would like some advice,
i would hate to spend the money if insullation would not
do any good. thank you good people.

I want to buy new curtains for my bedroom. Do I have to buy one curtain for the left side of my window and one for the right side of my window? Or when I order them online, do I just buy one curtain for the whole window? I am talking about curtains like these:
http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/ProductsHOM.aspx?ItemID=12596f8&ItemTyp=G&GrpTyp=SIZ&ShowMenu=T&ShopBy=0&SearchString=curtains&RefPage=SearchDepartment.aspx&CmCatId=SearchResults&Search1Prod=True&S4Filter=N%7c4294967251%7cNtt%7ccurtains%7cNtk%7csearch_all%7cNao%7c0%7cNty%7c1%7csid%7c1167DEEFC087%7cNtx%7cmode%2bmatchallpartial%7cNtpr%7c1%7cNtpc%7c1%7cFN4294967251%7cbrown

I do not want the valance, I just want the curtains. So do I buy one or two?

Our current dining set is over 14 years old. Solid glass table and 6 chairs. We have 2 kids, ages 10 and 15. Thinking of getting a counter height "gathering" table with chairs instead of the full size dining table. Any one have any experience with these. I like the idea of a leaf to add more space as needed.

I want to buy probably on ebay some outdoor inflatables, I got 2 great used ones last year on ebay so I know how they work and all, but I am trying to price them. I know Gemmy is a great brand and many< I think, have tried to copy them. I don't have to have top notch, but I do want ones that will hold up from year to year. Is Airblown a different company and are they good and tell me what other companies are good or bad or ?? I dont have a lot to spend, but love to cheer up the yard for the neighborhood kids, not to keep up with the Jones, so update this Grandma aged 56 OK ? thanks

I'm looking to redecorate my bedroom and was considering draping fabric on the walls rather than painting.

I'm trying to achieve a sort of boudoir/chamber feel with rich colors and patterns. I have a couple problems though: a) my landlord won't allow me to drill into the walls (I was thinking about using curtain rods) and b) I can't find much about decorating with fabric online.

Has anybody ever done this? If so... is there an alternative to curtain rods? Are there poles or stands that I can drape fabric too and place in front of my walls? I'm so lost and I need help!

To view what sort of look I'm trying to acheive:

I live in a small one bedroom flat in Melbourne's inner south-east (Armadale) that was built in the 70's. It has a very small bathroom/toilet that I'd like to renovate along with other improvements for future resale.
I reckon the bathroom space would be better utilised if the bath was replaced by a shower cubicle. But I've been told that would reduce the resale value a lot (mainly because females prefer baths).
Do you think that only having a shower would affect the resale value of the flat very much?

current set up is:

External store/plant room walls:- The external walls are 105mm brick outer skin, 75mm cavity with 100mm lightweight concrete block inner skin. Inner stores walls are 100mm brick

why is concrete used as the internal wall in this setup instead of brick? and why in the stores is brick used instead of concrete?

I am doing a Science Fair project and need to laminate my notecards to water-proof them. I tried with plastic wrap (bad idea!) and my mom suggested laminating them. I don't know where to find a laminate machine though and I've been looking online for some time. I really need this FAST!

the plans showed the a/c duct work going up a column in the media room. ( not visable ) We plubmed for a wet bar on the back wall. The builder ran the duct work differently causing the duct work to come in to the room. They sloped the ceiling in to the room right over where the wet bar was to go, so now we have this 45 degree slope in the back of the room. They say the roof line won't allow it to go up the column. We had to force a meeting to get the mto stop, but they kept going, and said there was nothing that they could do.
Do we have any rights?

It belongs to a 22-year old guy with mental illness & suicide thoughts...coming home from the hospital. The room is very small & I'm getting rid of everything except his computer. I don't want any reminders of the old. The blinds & the walls are white. I don't have enough time to paint the walls.
Any suggestions would do. Colors, smells, paintings, adding curtains etc...

Thanks in advance.

I might move into an apartment with a tiny bedroom. It has thick carpet. Anyway to make the room seem larger? Also the sides tend to angle a certain way, so its not perfectly square or rectangular
