We are having a door decorating contest. The rooms are from Infant to Preschool. I work in the 6th months to 1 year room. Any ideas? Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Consider wrapping up the door as a huge Christmas present with gift wrap paper. Obviously, the kids are too young to help you do it so you're on your own. But you could take some great digital pics of the kids with a santa's hat on and use these to decorate the bow. It would be easy to make a curly bow and attach the pics at the end of the curlies.

Hope you like this idea.....

I too had a contest at work and came up with a gift bag. I took a piece of posterboard and put it on the bottom half of the door. Do not put it on very tight, leave room for a little flexibility. Then I attached the felt to the posterboard by using clear packing tape around the sides and bottom. I then took a few pages of newspaper and stuffed the back slightly so that it would stick out a little. I then took some empty boxes and wrapped them like a present and taped them to the door looking like they came out of the bag. After I did all that I put some colored tissue paper in the top of the bag sticking out like you would a regular gift bag. For the handle, I got some colored roping and hung a thumb tack at the center of the door and at the top left and right corner of the bag. I then just hung it around the thumb tacks and the ends down into the bag. I even taped some of the empty gifts I wrapped on the window as if there was not enough room in the bag. I even placed a small stuffed teddy bear in the corner of the bag. Sorry I don't have a picture that I can send.

1] wrap the door up in wrapping paper [ suggest silver, gold, or blue ]
2] trace all the little ones hands, on green paper, and put the up in a giant circle to make a wreath - or use multiples of each one's hands to give each one their own wreath!
3] use teachers hands to make a big red bow!
OR - Make an advent theme - with a different baby behind each door!

use kid safe red and green paint, and a paper plate cut like a wreathe, let the kiddos paint the "wreathes" with their own creativity. You will have to do it one at a time, write their names on the back before painting. Do green as the background color and red for "berries" on it.
