I worked in auto dealership parts, service and bodyshops for 25 years and I always wore slip resistant walking shoes or black/white tennis --walking or running shoes....Reebok's. Pick something with a cushiony sole and slip resistant if theres any water or oil on the floor at times.

I work all day on Marble - which is actually harder than concrete, and I like the Dynastep inserts by Dr. Scholls. Hard to find, but they help my feet, my knees and my lower back.

One of those massage wands for the back - I like to use those on the bottoms of my feet and my calves at the end of a long day...it helps a lot as well.

Try the Asics Kayano series. meant to be a distance running shoe but has great support for the whole foot. try a spenco insole if you want extra arch support. The shoe retails for about $135, but in your situation, you will get what you pay for with shoes.
