General rule of thumb is this. Dark colors make all rooms feel smaller, light colors make it feel larger than it is. If a room is quite small, typical colors to make it feel larger, would be anything on the upper end (top two colors on each leaf of a color palette). If the grey is really light, more like a dirty white, you'll be fine. But if it is closer to something like a battleship grey, it may may the room feel a bit dark and closed in. There are a few colors you never use in certain rooms. A good example is red is never used in a bedroom. Red is an active, vibrant energy inducing color...a bedroom is an area of relaxation where you try to wind down. Blue shades (greys have a fair bit of blue in them) are a warm color and generally are relaxing and subdued color (as are most earth tones).

Most of all, remember, its just paint.....if if comes off badly or you just don't like it, its the easiest part of a house to change. Just repaint. Alot of it comes down to your own personal tastes.

It is suitable because you say its light. It will feel cold not homey. I lived in a house with light gray walls for awhile and off white carpeting and it felt drab to me. But if you have black furniture and you like modern it might be the thing for you. If you want to feel relaxed use warm colors (light warm colors) yellows, golds, tans. Just stay with light colors so the place looks bigger and not smaller.

It sounds nice. However, white on the floor will be so hard to keep as clean and white as you'd like. Take your shoes off at the door.

Yes, light colors will make a small space appear to be larger.

yeah, have a black, white, gray thing going. I suggest another color on the floor it will be hard to keep clean. unless you are wealthy and can afford maids.
