I love Christmas also I just wish people would involve God more. Is it so hard to say a quick prayer as a family wishing the Lord a Happy Birthday and thanking God for the gift of life. This country should be mor thankful then any other on the planet yet still we digress. God doesn't ask for everything just a little acknowledgement.

Im only 19 so I have only been able to buy presents for my family the last three years. It is hard when you only have a part time job and are trying to go to school. My family is huge so Christmas stay away!!!!

I could wait another couple of months. I don't really like getting things but I love seeing my children open presents. I just need a couple of months to save so I can buy them some really cool stuff.

As far as my husband and I are concerned, it's 'Christmas' time already ... and it will be 'Christmas time' until January 6th. We buy gifts for each other, but we also give money to charities that help the homeless, since we were both homeless right before we met, and one period after we were married. We will put up a few decorations at home, but our 'celebration' on the 'big day' will be to go out to see a movie and have dinner out ... and we may open our gifts early, or not until after Christmas (if we can't buy them by Christmas, it's not a big deal for us). We have time with our family and friends on other days, and we give them their gifts then, and they open them then. They understand that we prefer to be alone that day, and they visit with other family and friends ... but this year will be slightly different, because we have a good friend who works with my husband whose wife just left him (good riddance) and we're going to take him out for a nice dinner and give him a gift (a movie with 'violence' in it, which his wife 'forbade him' to watch, but the movie is 'Sicko' so it's not 'active violence') because we like him and want him to be comfortable ...
No, we don't send bunches of cards, either ... we have a list of four or five people, for whom we will send individually chosen cards along with their small gifts ... other than that, we feel that Christmas itself is a RELIGIOUS day, and we do go to church ... Midnight Mass at the cathedral in our city ... and THAT will be our 'biggest Christmas tradition' until we are both dead and in Heaven. Merry Christmas, and Happy Birthday to Jesus Christ.

I'm decorating my desk at work and streaming an online station that plays Christmas music 24/7. I already know what I'm getting everyone. all I really care about is having family together.
