what are those like beauty tables that have a mirror attached to them so you can do you makeup and every thing there i no its not called a dresser....

Has nayone had any experience in getting contractor services from any of these home goods stores to install laminate flooring?

Trying to decide on whether I should do it myslef or hire one of the contractors. Any feedback and/or estimates on cost would be great.

I have an 1880s walnut Seth Thomas wall clock that had a thermometer as part of the crown decoration. The old bubble leveler is still on the clock, but the thermometer is long gone. The plalcement of the thermometer would be part of the complete restoration of the old clock.

Please advise me on what avenue I should go to hire a contractor to finish my basement. Should I hire the electrician, plumber and drywaller seperately...or should I hire a contractor that sub-contracts all those people? My husband and I love to work together on our house projects, so we would like to do some of the work ourselves. For amatures, what could we get away with doing ourselves with a "dummy" book? Also, is there any advise anyone can give me to avoid any tack-on costs and confusion. (My friend had a house built with a front porch...but found out that the railing was extra.) Stuff like that. Thank you so much for any advice you pros can give me!!!

The tub is cast iron and would be very $$$$ to move and replace. I'd like to find a way to make the room work. I'm not sure what color to paint the bathroom to tone town the baby blue color of the bath/sink/toilet. The tile is a beige color, I do not want to replace this either right now. What works with light blue and beige?

We are painting one room a cappichino (sp) color and the other room a light green. I think painting the ceiling would close it in, but just checking.

I decided to dye some clothes black and did it inside, big mistake. Now there are dye stains all over the hardwood floor. I tried scrubbing them with a scrub pad but it didn't work. What should I do?

I have a beutiful set of oak bedroom furniture that i actually got for next to nothing but it is great. I don't know anything about the value of furniture, but now that I am 56, I am finding that things I have in my house are actually collectibles etc. I guess there is something good about being on the wrong side of 50 :) :) :) I bought it "used" in 1989 but it is like perfect and includes 2 night stands, big chester drawers with mirror and head for bed. ?? thanks for you furniture people I can help with children things and sewing :) and selling on ebay and of course jesus things

HE WAS CONTRACTED MID JULY TO PAINT OUSTIDE OF OUR HOUSE AND STILL HASN'T FINISHED BY THE BEGINING OF SEPTEMBER!!!!!
We paid him half up front, with the balance to be paid on completion. The contract we signed said he would be finished no later than August 9th.
The job he has done so far is patchy in places, dribbles of different color of paint runnning down side, bare exposed wood in parts etc, etc, .
He always has excuses , turns up when he likes ! Rarely has done a full days work.

HELP...Legally can he come after us for balance if we find someone else to finish this botched job.....
HE IS THREATENING TO PLACE A LIEN ON OUR HOUSE!!
This is becoming very expensive.... !!!!!!!

I am a 12 year old girl, and will be turning 13 in december. I would like to rearange and do some things to my room to make it not look so gurly. Kuz, When I was 8 my mom painted flowers around my window and she wont paint over it. I need help knowing what to put in my room, and how to cover the flowers without painting them. Im really not the gurly. So, If you could please help me figure out how i should re arange my room, because my bedding is pink, and my other one is green and blue with flowers. and, my walls are a really light purple. But, I cant change those. So, Please help me =)
