Could you cover the flowers with some artwork? (Maybe they're too close to the window, but it's an idea. You could use your own work, or posters or prints.)

For the bedding, you could make your own comforter cover using two flat sheets sewn on both length sides and one width side to basically make a large pillowcase to put over your comforter. Add some Velcro to both sides of the open end to keep the comforter from sliding out of the cover. Then you could choose a less "girly" color. I think black would be cool with the purple walls.

Arrange candles, collectibles, framed photos, and other personal items along the desk, dresser, and other surfaces.

A cool kite would look great, hanging from the ceiling. You could also get some fun pillows and maybe a lava lamp.

Maybe if you work with the flowers you could make them look nice. Or try some long curtains, would that help cover them? A simple change of bedding can do wonders in changing the room, along with a change of accessories. Try taking everything off your dresser, desk, bookshelves, etc., and putting only the things you really like back on, but put them on different shelves. Also, rearrange your furniture, if you are allowed to paint your walls, try a neutral, but pretty color like yellow, or if you are really daring, a dark red contrast wall.
I understand how you feel, I had a pony wallpaper up in my room until I left for college, and my Mom finally changed it into a guest room. I put up LOTS of posters, and cut-out pictures from magazines and framed them.
Good Luck!

You really should paint, it would make a huge difference. I'm sure you could convince her. Offer to do it yourself. I also like the first two answers.
