I am building a new house in Ohio. I have good access to wood but I do not want to take hassle of handling wood. What kind of file place should I build to get the best resale value when I sell the House. Wood, electric or gas and vented or vent free. Also I already built the chimney because I had wood fireplace in my mind when I started building the house. Your suggestions will be appreciated.

I am moving into a new home and we were in the master bath taping off moulding and getting ready to paint when after about 30 minutes, the recessed light above the shower went off, and about 1 minute later, the one above the tub turned off. the other lights were fine. There is no external timer any where and after a few minutes after the lights cooled off, I was able to turn them back on. Are there lights that turn off after a certain amount of time or after they reach a certain temp.? Baffled please help.

Is 400 to 450 Square feet a fairly nice size hotel room for a couple? Getting a luxury hotel for parents, says the deluxe room is between 400 and 450 square feet. Another way to look at it is that its 41 square meters.

Is this a good size, and what's the average size of a hotel room?

What are appropriate art themes for a master bedroom shared with my husband? I would like a romantic theme but are themes like Degas ballerinas, or paintings of couples, or florals o.k or too feminine? Should it be something like landscapes? If you have any specific paintings in mind, it would also help. Thanks

I bought a copper colored metal twirley thing at a swap meet - it had a pug cut out in the middle (there are stars, hearts, all shapes and kinds availalable). They also had a black one there - I now want the black one also and tried to find one at the Puyallup Fair but they didn't have any. Does anyone know where you can buy these online? Or what they are called and/or made of - tin maybe. The are pretty flexible and beautiful when twirling.

In my living room, we have beige walls, a beige sofa, and beige carpet. Unfortunately, there's a stone fireplace, so we had to keep the "earthy" colors. I have several pictures, and they all have the beige color in them, but for the most part they are brightly colored. Can I get away with a print on curtains, or is it better to have solid color curtains, and what color?

I live in a very old house that has thick floor boards to the basement then very thick plank wood on that, then luon board and linoleum had been placed over that.

I recently had new cabinets installed in my kitchen. The contractor cut out the linoleum, luon board and 1/2" plywood then shimmied the cabinets up 3/4th inch for tile to be installed afterwards.

A tile contractor came to my house after and stated that the cabinets need to be raised another inch to fit ¾ inch plywood down and 1 inch for the tile and other material.

Does anyone have another suggestion of how to lay a tile floor without moving the cabinets?

Can tile be laid directly on the plank flooring leveling it with the material used to set the flooring?

Can we just put down ¼ inch plywood to create a level surface? This contractor said the tile will crack, but my house is 150 years old, I think it has done all of its settling.

Hi - I've burnt a couple of saucepans and am disappointed that the stainless steel coating has worn of in patches on the inside ot the saucepan. The patches are darker in colour. Can this be recoated? Also, I'm concerned that the worn areas may be poisonous because the coating of stainless steel was needed to protect the food from metals etc.
Any ideas?

I'm refurbishing this really great old metal cabinet. The door lock is gone, leaving in its place a nice large hold which is about 3/4" in diameter. I don't really need a lock, and the thing stays shut decently well. Is there some way to fill this hole then use a regular door pull on it, or is there a SUPER WIDE shank drawer pull that would work?
