In my living room, we have beige walls, a beige sofa, and beige carpet. Unfortunately, there's a stone fireplace, so we had to keep the "earthy" colors. I have several pictures, and they all have the beige color in them, but for the most part they are brightly colored. Can I get away with a print on curtains, or is it better to have solid color curtains, and what color?

Wow..with such a neutral back drop you can use any color you like. Stripes, plaids, solids, florals! Just make certain, if you choose a print, it has the some beige tones.

You may want to pick your favorite from one of the pictures. Buy your drapes first. Then buy a few throw pillows that incorporate the drape color and beige (a stripe or a plaid or both) as well as at least one pillow in the solid color. Add a few candles and maybe a rug or a lamp in the same color and your living room will look very pulled together.

If you like the monochromatic theme then go with solid beige curtains. For my taste it's an awful lot of beige for one room. I personally would prefer a muted stripe of other "earthy" colors. From your description would stay away from flowery patterns, but perhaps a leaf pattern would look okay.

Pick the color[s] you like best from the art, maybe with beige, and get curtains in that color[s].
Repeat it in throw pillows and other small accessories [ lamps, vases/flowerpots, ornaments, and candles ].
Bring a sample [ arm cover ] to check how it will look with the curtain color.
