OK, do not do red or any other color that is dark like that. You want to do something that is going to lighten up your room and make your black couches look better.
Get some samples at the store. Depending on what color your tables and decorations are you could always do a neutral color like light brown.I just did that today to my living room and it really goes with anything and makes the room complete. Get a lot of different samples and tape them to your wall for a day or two and focus on the one that pops out at you over time! Good luck!

hey, really anything goes, but since the couches are black you may want to keep it light, do a nice pearl white color and then one of your favorite colors on one wall, the biggest one. A dark blue or bluish/purple is fantastic, but you can also do peach, or red and pick up the colors in pillows for the couches or a rug,
There are wonderful textured paints which I would also recommend you leave for only one wall, you can do a terra cotta color and colorful rugs and it will make the room warm and inviting.
Enjoy!

Try a warm neutral color like gold or light burnt orange. I would not go with white. It depends upon what color your carpet is too. Watching home decorating shows should give you some tips on things you can do with the walls like striping or muraling too. Warm colors feel more welcoming in a room you spend a lot of time in though.
That is just my opinion. I guess you also want to make sure you match your own personality too

I like people who choose new colours of couches...
I mean i couldn't have thought about a black couch in a living room.... but when you told me about it ......... why not?
I guess the best paint colour would be:
*Dark or(digital) green with a touch of black
*or Dark red for the wall behind the couches and the rest of the walls with very light brown
Try to add your own touches, as well.... That makes the colour last longer!!!!!!!
Please email me when you decide (even if it is not one of my suggestions)... GOOD LUCK

If you only want earth tones, go with a light tan, off white, or a darker tan. If you want to combine colors, go with pale green, pale blue. Then use accent pillows on the couch. If walls are light tan, use a shade of green pillows, if they are pale blue, use dark blue pillows. Or you could go with burgandy pillows for whatever color you paint the walls. Beautiful!!

My daughter painted her walls "snow" white. It has a little sparkle to it. She had dark chocolate furniture at the time.
Daughter in law painted her living room a very light lavender to go with butterscotch furniture. Really interesting combo.
I am really partial to a very pale green with a bit darker on ceiling. I have dark teal furniture and lots of wood!! Everything from rock maple to golden oak.

Anything minty would work and really set it off (minty green, minty pink, minty blue..you get the picture). My sister immediately suggested neutral grey.
