I was told it was 70 sq feet, but no one has mentioned any height clearance, which is kind of silly since a room 70 sq feet with 5 feet of clearance shouldn't be considered legal. (Similarly this room has slanted ceilings, should the sq ft. under the slant where you cannot stand, count as living space?)

I have medium oak colored cabinets, black speckled countertops, creamy/beige tile on the floors, and black appliances. My dining room is red, and the adjacent (open concept) living room is beige. It can't be green because I already have another green in another room of the house. I'd like to add some interest to the room. Any suggestions???

We bought our home last year and never really noticed that they had painted over wallpaper and border until just recently. Now, the problem being is you can really see the seams and it looks like they put at least two coats of paint on. So my question is, is there any way to get rid of the seams? How and are we in over our heads??

I have an electric water heater and last Friday it continued to heat the water but it does not get really hot! It was here before I moved here 5 years ago so I don't know how old it is! Could it be the thermostat, remember that the heat loss was sudden!

Thank you

i live in the attic (3rd) floor of a large 2 storey victorian house - which is also locally listed... living in the top gives me full and sole access to a further large attic above. my question is whether i will be allowed to build a roof terrace in my attic space - does it belong to me? am i likely to get planning permission? i own a share of the freehold so there are no complicated landlord discussions.. any advice gratefully received

Maybe diamond isn't the best word...my mind is drawing a blank...basically a square rotated so the points are at the top and bottom. I'm NOT a sewer, and I have cut fabric and used my glue gun to make seams at the edges--now I'm not sure of how to hang it besides using penny nails to attach the fabric to each corner? I'd prefer a way to hang it so I can open it half way or partially to let sun in...

Looking for anyone who's had replacement windows installed in the last 2-3 years or so. It's not the cost I'm concerned with, though I'd love to hear your comments. I'm more interested in what you had and what you chose as the replacement, what kinds of things you considered while shopping, and now that you have your new windows, do you have any "I wish..." items - things you'd do differently?

Thanks!

I have a older dog that is having accidents. I was going to put linoleum down but it hooks to the bedroom and I want to have same floor in both rooms and the dog stays in the two rooms so I want something I can clean good. The man at the flooring place said that wouldn't hurt it to get wet from bath. The name of the flooring is Nafco/Donco plank flooring. It has a 15 year warrinty. I am going to have the flooring people install. It looks like wood and he said many people use it in baths. I am worried about moisture and if my dog has an accident. Has anyone had this problem or know about this product or if you can clean urine if gets into cracks. The floorman said that cracks are to small and would go in. I like the look of flooring but don't want to put money into something that will smell or mess up.
