Hang fabric. Does her room have a window. Buy her favorite color of drapes and then a second pair to hand on the wall behind her bed. Attach them with a curtain rod just like you would in a window and pull them back on each side with some pretty ribbon. Buy some of the paper latterns that they have now and hang them in a contrasting color on both sides of her bed in front of the curtain panels. Cheap picture frames that are painted (craft paint about 88 cents at Wal-mart) in cool colors to match and then with a pencil head or q-tip, paint on some pokka dots. Suggestion pink frame, yellow pokka dots. You can frame some of her artwork, or get some fun greeting cards and frame them. Top the room off with a fun chair and a colorful rug.

you can probably paint it white.a coat of fresh white paint might brighten it up a bit. other than that, you could do a million things. window treatments like curtains, posters, lamps. a matching bed set. a rug. if the furniture is old and yucky, you could paint it....any color would look nice. you could look thru a decorating magazine and pick something you like for a girls room and copy what you can. even just the color scheme..
you need to use your imagination.

if you go to the paint section at lowes or home depot they have these stickers of different characters, designs that peel off and stick on the walls...they are very easy to remove as well. then just buy matching curtains and/or comforter to match the theme!
