I have a older dog that is having accidents. I was going to put linoleum down but it hooks to the bedroom and I want to have same floor in both rooms and the dog stays in the two rooms so I want something I can clean good. The man at the flooring place said that wouldn't hurt it to get wet from bath. The name of the flooring is Nafco/Donco plank flooring. It has a 15 year warrinty. I am going to have the flooring people install. It looks like wood and he said many people use it in baths. I am worried about moisture and if my dog has an accident. Has anyone had this problem or know about this product or if you can clean urine if gets into cracks. The floorman said that cracks are to small and would go in. I like the look of flooring but don't want to put money into something that will smell or mess up.

All vinyl is easy to clean. The adhesive should repel moisture. Urine is acidic to all floors. Clean up any accidents at least once per day. The vinyl planks are a very good solution for you. Do you have a large dog? If your dogs nails are very sharp you may want to consider a more durable finish. I have had bad experience with Domco floors scratching very badly. I would consider Mannington Adura planks they are alot more scratch resistant.

Good luck

I would go with ceramic tile and put a throw rug over-top in the bedroom. I have the same problem with my 3 Pugs and it is a Godsend having all ceramic tile on my floors. It should have a comparable cost to that flooring you were considering. Here you can buy the ceramic flooring for $1.00 / sq ft and about $2/ sq ft to install.

Well you might consider buying the training doggie pads, If he has certain areas that he lays on, the pads that I used for my dog when he was sick were very convient and they obsorb and the pads come in all sizes , there kinda like a giant panty pad and easy to clean up, you might look online for better buys....
I bought them at
Wal-Mart, and think there were 12 to 18 for about $6.50 .
The other thing ...if you decide to get the pads, place a towel or whatever on the pad , it helps so they don't get tore up, of course I have a 70Ib dog
GOOD LUCK !

This may sound cruel, but if you do not plan to get any more pets, then my recommendation is to wait until after the dog passes away to replace the floors.

Had the same problem, solved it.
Nothing beats getting out of the tub and stepping on a nice furry dogskin rug.

Hmmmm... Tricky.... You can find a different store that's cheaper or make it yourself. But how big do you want it?
