I collect cookbooks and I own over 2000. I just bought a condo and decided I wanted floor to ceiling shelves. Last night a contractor came over and gave an estimate of about $2000 but he's a custom cabinet maker and I think he's used to making more elaborate furniture. I want these shelves basic in so not to take away from the look of the books. I was hoping that I could get this done for $1500 at the most.

What is a good way to a reputable place to do this? Someone said to go to Home Depot and put in a request for the work and they will find someone for me. Has anyone ever done this?

Whenever we sit down on our couch the cushions always slid right off. We have to keep pushing them in every minute. Do you have any ideas on how to keep them put?

Is there any product that would adhere to this surface and also bring back the slightly glossy black appearance? Would liquid rubber work or perhaps some other art supply material? The item is a small rubber surface on a binocular. Thanks if you can help...

Are there any suggestions/tips before we get started on this weekend project? We'd like to strip the walls down as well as the framing to save money on the cost of refinishing it. Previous owner finished the basement himself and used the wrong type of wood and did a bad job cutting the drywall to size so there are alot openings at the seams, doors hung upside down, not to mention all the scrapes I've gotten from the popcorn walls while trying to turn on the light switch and I dare not bring the kids down there yet. We'd just like to "DO THIS ALL OVER"!

I want to revamp my bathroom on a budget. I have white tiles with old mosaic transfers that are starting to peel off in areas. Can anyone tell me where, or give me a good website, to get some new, modern transfers please? I have looked everywhere withoug success. Dont like the ones in argos at the moment.

They set up these display units in the plumbing section which resemble fully functional bathrooms. How was I supposed to know that you aren't allowed to use the toilet?

I have just painted all of them and I would rather not do it again for a few years! Around here the shutter paint is damaged more by the strong sun than cold weather.
