There are some very good restoration products on the market these days, and with these new products coverage is so good that it is a viable thing to do, however it is a job for a specialist restoration expert as the job has to be done in a certain way otherwise it will not work.

Do not be tempted by DIY products on the internet as most will ruin your suite.

Restoration is not cheap and will probably cost about £800 - £1000 so you may feel it is not worth it.

You can call an upholsterer and ask about the dye. I've never heard of leather being dyed, but it may be possible.

I wish you had added more details about why it is the "wrong color." If the color is not absolutely hideous, perhaps you could work with it. If it's a neutral color such as in the tans or browns palette, I think you could probably pull off a make-over with your existing pieces. Could you add pillows and a handsome throw to pull your current decor together with the new sofa?

Could you add an area rug, or change out wall color or drapery color? If you have other upholstered pieces (chairs, maybe?) that do not go with the leather sofa, could you rearrange the grouping so that the chairs are further away?

If might be more cost effective to change out a few accessories or to re-paint your walls, etc. than to have the sofa dyed.

Often, it is possible to work with what you have and just do a little tweaking with the accessories and accent colors.

Good luck!
