But I want to keep the full head/foot board.....can I use a queen frame????

Get a queen size frame. when you try to attach the head board the screw holes won't match.

So you go to a hardware store and get two metal strips with four holes in each, about six inches long should do. You attach the bracket to the head board first with the screws that you use now, and attach the other end to the frame with stove bolts and nuts. You use stovebolts so they won't dig into your box spring.

You have to do some measuring to get the right size metal, or buy blank ones and drill your own holes

If you have a headboard and foot board that is made to be used for a full or queen size mattress than the frame will adjust. If the boards aren't made for both sizes I would rethink changing to a larger mattress. It may not look right.

Most bedrames sold today can accommodate anything from a full to a king with a few adjustments

They are inexpensive and easy to set up....good luck!

frame can but head board might not,and it is difficult to make bigger.
