I have a good used artificial Christmas tree. Does anyone know of any organizations that can find a family in need?

I have two vertical blinds, each with a centre draw split. I want to use both of them on a large window... but need to be able to change the operating mechanism somehow, in order for the blinds to have a side draw. Each blind has both a draw chord and a chain that opens and closes the slats, on the same side. Would like the blinds to be able to stack on that side also. Is there any way to do this without purchasing anything? Is there a way to adjust (or reconfigure) the draw chord (or other appartus) so that it opens and closes the blinds from/to the end of the headrail vice the centre ?

So I want to make it look nice with paint. I am not going to replace anything. I might paint the cabinets white, add some shelves in. What do you suggest? The counter tops only have a hint of pink, they are actually sort of dark. Oh yes, the reason why I am considering pink is I have stainless steel accessories in there!

I have a bunch of boxes in trusses over my garage. The ceiling has open 2X4 trusses set on 24" centers. I would like to put down a simple flooring in the main open area and a pull down ladder. This would be used just for light storage such as Christmas decorations. The garage is a 2 Car garage. Is this safe for light storage? Do I need to re-enforce the trusses under where I'm adding the storage area?

Can plain, stark white Corian countertops be stained, marbelized, colored or something to change the color from white? Thanks.

I have a tan/camel colored couch I purchased two years ago when I was living in a small one bedroom apartment. I've recently purchased a house and want to get a loveseat to help fill the living room and am wondering what my options are as far as color goes. Do I have to get something that comes close to the tan/camel color, or can I branch out and get whatever I want since my couch is kind of neutral? Any suggestions on what colors might look good with it?

what do you prefer, gloss, eggshell or satinwood, as a painter i prefer satinwood, its in between gloss and eggshell finish, and dosent dull as quick as eggshell and not to shiny like gloss.

I have changed the fuses and also checked for any empty or blown bulbs and replaced them with new ones. But still only half of the string will light up.

I'm installing laminate flooring and am planning on using my existing carpet padding (it's really thin). I'm installing the flooring on a concrete foundation. How important is it for me to use an underlayment/vapor barrier such as Visqueen? What are the consequences, both short and long-term if I choose not to use a vapor barrier?

I have a set of Zig Posterman Liquid Chalk pens, waterbased pigment ink, for an office blackboard. They are supposed to be water soluble, removable with common household cleaner (Windex). This doesn't seem to be the case and I'm wondering what they use for a cleaner at Starbucks since they use liquid chalk markers on their boards. I'm also wondering if a solution with ammonia might do the trick or if it may be that my board is too porous. Any advice would be appreciated.

We just went from a large entertainment center with multiple shelves to a large projection tv with no entertainment center or storage. Any ideas on things that I may already have around the house that would make for attractive, useable storage for cds, dvds, VHS, and Playstation games that were displaced when we moved the entertainment center out of the room?

I am varnishing a brand new unfinished wood door using Man O War Marine Spar Varnish. I am appling it using a fairly decent brush with slow even strokes. I keep getting tiny little bubbles on the surface.

Is there some kind of chemical that can loosen the hold between the table and the wall? Its an all-girls feat so I'mhoping not too much strength is needed for this :) Please tell me if there are any dangers involved in handling the chemicals.. and anthing else that is related to this.
