I have two vertical blinds, each with a centre draw split. I want to use both of them on a large window... but need to be able to change the operating mechanism somehow, in order for the blinds to have a side draw. Each blind has both a draw chord and a chain that opens and closes the slats, on the same side. Would like the blinds to be able to stack on that side also. Is there any way to do this without purchasing anything? Is there a way to adjust (or reconfigure) the draw chord (or other appartus) so that it opens and closes the blinds from/to the end of the headrail vice the centre ?

It depends on the type of track system. Some are designed with off-center carrier bodies that are designed to be left or right drawn only. Others are universal and can be used to draw either way. Even if you have that type of system you will probably have a hard time making it work. Generally the scissor mechanism is snipped off just past the last carrier and without an extra scissor section you will not be able to join the two sections of carriers together. If you were able to work with one less carrier on the overall new setup then maybe you can slide by. Other isues will be even if you could rework those tracks you still have an issue making the two tracks not only meet in the middle but also providing the necessary overlap for privacy. The other consideration is that you will have to walk to both ends of the window every time you want to adjust the angle of the louvers or draw them back. My suggestion is to buy a complete new vertical from someone like us online where you can get it at a really reasonable price. Either way, good luck. Our site is http://www.IslandBlinds.com

I think you have to buy them as center or side draw to fit the window. I have a set of each that I bought about 15 years ago. Call the store where you got the blinds.
