My mom's got one of those plastic things you put over tablecloths so the tablecloth doesn't get dirty, and I accidently put some sticky christms tags on it. now's there's a big sticky spot on the plastic thing, and I don't know how to get it off.

What do I do?

Please help me. Mom's really mad.

I have a double bed quilt that I use as my bed spread. It was made by my grandmother before she died. I am curious as to what would be the best and safest way to clean it. I am concerned because it has a significant amount of cross-stitching on it and I don't want any of the stitches to come undone. I figure it is pretty sturdy because she used it on one of the beds in her house from when she made it in 1985 until 2005 and it is still in pretty good shape. Any thoughts?

I bought a suit from this store the other day and it was too big. I was going to keep it but then I decided to exchange it for another size. The problem is I already wore it (kept the tags on It.) and I work in an environment with a lot of smoke. The jacket now smells like smoke and I need to return it. I can't wash it because then I won't be able to return it.

I am in real trouble. I used my wife's favorite coffee cup (really a plastic 12 ounce beer stein) to soak some dirty flatware over night in a detergent solution and now even though we have washed it in the dishwasher she still tastes the detergent.

how can you simply shrink a cotton tshirt? mines slightly too big and I'd like a smaller, tighter fit.

Can you just tumble dry it at a high temperature? any ideas?

house was built new 11 years ago. But as the years went on I started to notice a strange smell. I have difficulty describing it exactly, it is vague, yet strong enough to definately notice it. it is kinda like a mixture of rotten food, musty, stale dank air, and a small fart. I know it sounds weird. This is the only way I could describe it. its not just one particular odor and its so vague that it is hard to say what the smell is. I am a very clean person. There is NO food or garbage left out ever. There is no pet allowed in this room. I am the only person who sleeps here. I clean, dust, vacume, wash the sheets, everything top to bottom once a week. I have tried burning candles. Yet this smell keeps coming back. Usually it is most noticeable after I have been gone all day, then come home to a smelly room. I tried leaving windows open for entire day to air out. But now it is winter, and I can not do that. Seems to be stronger when the weather is damp. See additional details.

Whenever I buy a new shirt, I don't wash before use and just jump straight into it. Is this bad? I know the tag tells you to wash separately first because it can have dyes that come off. But I don't even bother, just too lazy. Will not washing it cause body acne?
