The article as I remember it, was made of metal, and had a receptacle, into which you put the old leftovers of bar soap, you then tightened a screw clamp
and the bits of soap were squeezed together. Wetting it probably helped the
soap to amalgamate into a new bar! Not pretty but as good as a new one! This question originates from the u.k. ,so answers fom elsewhere would probably be not much good.

Got some lovely thick big towels for our wedding - we've washed them twice but they just don't seem to absorb the water well. Anyone got any suggestions??

I bartend and clean at the local VFW. Everyone smokes! Even though we have an exhaust fan, it just doesn't do the trick. The odor, I'm sure, has "sunk" into the ceiling tiles. We have a "drop" type ceiling, so washing them is out of the question. We are getting new "smoke-eaters" but I still have to find a way to help with the smell.

On the inner thighs of my suit trousers, the material has worn down, as I do a lot of walking with my work. Can this be repaired, either at home by me or professionally? They are 100% wool. I live in Bristol, England.

It seems that the agitator isn't catching. It's also leaking water on the floor. I just got it used and don't know what to do.

kids helped with dinner and spilled food on the burners. Tried "special" glass stove top cleaners, hot soapy water and scratch pad, and a ton of elbow grease. Can't seem to get it clean.

I have this set of red cotton towels that always smell like mildew after I wash them. My other towels don't smell like mildew even if I wash them together.

I even changed detergent and the way I wash them. Does anyone know why this happens?
