We manage a camp resort and have the same problems, Just get some small bowls of vinegar and sat them around the room, in a day or so you won't smell the smoke.....It really works.....also at Home Depot or other hardwares you can get a product called Odo Ban........Gets rid of any bad smell and leaves things smelling fresh......But do try the vinegar.....Good Luck

That is a very difficult question to answer. If your VFW is anything like the ones I have been in, you can pretty much forget removing the smell of cigarette smoke, not to mention the smell of stale beer. Of course, if "Everyone smokes" there is not too much to worry about. Most portable devices are useless in a large area. Activated carbon and/or electrostatic cleaners in the ventilaton system could help. It would mean moving considerably more air through the HVAC system. Pretty costly for most VFWs. Good luck, and give my best to everyone at the VFW.

Spray febreeze on the ceiling tiles and they smell should disappear. If you have furniture of any kind spray it to. You can keep bowls of carpet fresh under the bar and it should keep the smell away. Sorry to say that the best way to get and keep out the smell is to buy a air purifier and run it constantly while the bar is open and even when closed. This should help alot with the smell. I smoke in my house and you wouldn't believe the difference in smell when I got my air purifier. Make sure if the VFW is going to pay for it to get one big enough for the room. You may need a few of them. Good Luck.

My best answer would have to be Febreeze! I love it and it works wonders. I promise! I don't know about a bar type atmosphere... but it's worth a try. You might need quite a bit though. ;)

If they are putting tobacco smoke in the air when the place is open, try putting incense smoke in the air when it is closed. A better solution (in California terms) is to ban smoking.

You might call the housekeeping departments of a few hotels, with your question. They probably have to deal with this a lot.

Try burning incense or oils (the good stuff not the watered down oils).

TRY BAKING SODA MIXED IN WATER IF YOU CAN WASH THE AREA IN QUESTION. OR MAYBE FABREEZE. MY SISTER USED CLOROX IN WATER AND SPRAYED HER CEILING, IT WORKED VERY WELL AND IT GOT RID OF THE BROWN STAIN, TOO. DIDNT DAMAGE IT.
