previous tenant used a bath mat of some kind and it left some kind of stain (not sure if it's some kind of adhessive or mold, etc). i've scrubbed with Tilex and it's removed most of it, but there's some deep stain that won't come out. what can i use to fix this?

I have a white shirt that I just washed and dried with the rest of my laundry. When I put it in, there were no visual stains on it, but now there is an orange line, about 2 inches, on the front of it! I washed it with other whites or very light colors. It's happened other times with other whites as well. What's going on?

I'd like to clean these old books that have become dirty (not scuffed) but don't want to damage or discolor the cloth (with board underneath) cover. What substance do you use and what's the technique?

I have heard that it is more economical to use the dishwasher once every couple of days as opposed to washing up the same amount of dishes the conventional way.

Which uses less water?

My kids and I went camping this weekend, and they went swimming and sliding in a natural waterslide. The rocks were slate, and there was some algae on them, so when the kids went sliding down, their suits got algae on them. I soaked them in cold water right away, and when we got home, I treated them with Oxy Clean. I then washed them in ERA three times in cold water, and to no avail. I cannot get it out. Does anyone know what will work? HELP ME PLEASE. I wouldn't really care so much, but as a single mom of 3 I am limited on funds, and the suits are brand new.
