I am very clean. I wash my hair daily and change my sheets and pillow cases about 2 times a week, but they smell like greasy hair. I know it is disqusting. I wash them in the hottest water available and use tide. Any suggestions to get this greasy hair smell outa my cases.

I am a nurse, I wash my hair before I leave for work in the am and after work. I have used everything from Suave to Head and shoulders. The pillows are less than 3 mos old. My son has the same greasy hair smell in his pillow cases. Thanks for the excellent response. I will try some of these things.

My grandfather used to use a towel over his pillow...He had greasy hair and even if he showered before bed he would still ruin pillow cases.
When you wash them try soaking them for a while it might help penetrate the grease.

Dear Pillow Cases, For myself, I put Oxyclean and my laundry soap together and put them into the SOAK cycle. Then ,after about a hour, going ahead and wash it as usual. Then you might try washing your pillow. I do this about twice a year. Then, like Wal-Mart stores you can get a pillow case ( COVER ) for your pillow. It keeps the pillow material clean. Then use your bed pillow cases as you always use, and you should be good to go.......... to sleep........ lol lol I'm thinking that the smell is coming from your pillow. It can hold a lot of germs that you are not always thinking about.... OK...Good Luck

ok so hear is the scoop. The product you use in your hair could be creating a waxy film. Alot of shampoo and conditioner these days have wax in them. This coats your hair and adds shine. But, it also coats your towels. Also. Fabric softener and fabric sheets are made with wax. As a customer service rep. for the linensource.com i would advise that you do not use fabric softener on your towels!.. the wax will lock in the bacteria and
that can get pretty smelly!!

Do you use the Tide that has bleach in it? Also, you can add liquid bleach (read instructions) to the wash water. I think some fabric softener adds a nice fragrance. You can spray pillowcases with Febreze between washings. Hope this helps.

Sounds like the problem may be your pillows. They may be old and perhaps time for you to invest in some fresh new ones!

Someone is perspiring on your pillow !
Try Downy-type sheets in the dryer ~
If the smell lingers, buy new ones!
