If it is a delicate fabric, such as silk or a silk blend, use Woolite or even baby shampoo; such as Johnsons' (less additives). Make sure the sink is very clean before using it to wash clothing, or use a clean dishpan or large bowl. Use warm water, not hot, mix the cleaner into the water to make suds. Place your dress into the water and gently move the fabric around in order to work the sudsy water through the fabric. Rinse the dress throughly, you may have to change the water numerous times to remove all traces of soap. Hang up to dry. If you check both sides of the washing instruction tag(s) it may give you more specific instructions. Good luck!!

With your hands, in not too hot water, with a gentle detergent (one designed for handwashing), make sure you rinse them really really thoroughly.

soak the clothes in warm water for 3 to 5 minutes and wash them with bar soap (TIDE) and rinse accordingly.
