I need to patch a section of my carpet. The size I need to patch is 2 feet by 1 1/2 feet. I will be patching just a few inches from the wall/front door. Here's my questions:

1. Will the patch job be noticeable at all or will it blend in to the other carpet?

2. Will the replaced carpet piece be loose or need stretched?

3. What if the carpet I am patching doesn't exactly match because my current carpet is used and the patch will be brand new?

I've never done this before so any advice for a first timer would be awesome! Thanks!

A depression of sorts (not sure if it would be categorized as resembling a sinkhole) is beginning to form next to the location of our private well near the house. The well is located near the top of a slope, and the depression -- now maybe 4"-6" deep at its worst -- is on the uphill side of the well, about two feet away from it. The total depression is maybe around a foot, 16 inches in diameter.

First noticed it earlier this summer when it was a few inches deep. I put soil there and grass seed, not thinking the problem through entirely. Now it formed again, a bit deeper this time.

The subdivision is built on top of a rather high glacial hill. Location is in the upper Midwest.

What's causing this, what do I need to know about it, and what should I do about it?

Thank you.

For security reasons I need to buy and install ( it is already wired from the old one that broke a long time ago), but I need to buy an elec. garage door opener for security but also I have very little money, so what would you suggest I do ? If I have to pay $200 I will, but thought I'd ask you first as I am living on pennies.

Need to get some good advice about electrical wiring. What's the best way to wire from a recepticle. Want to run about 6 feet from recepticle to 2 switches. One goes to patio light; the other to a switch which will control 3 recessed lights. Thinking of running 14/2 from one switch to the recessed lights and then also run the 14/2 between each recessed box (about 3 feet between each box). I want the recessed lights to all rung off of one switch (will use a dimmer for ta switch). What do you thinki is best way to do this. recepticle to swich one, switch one and two connected together, then run switch one to pation light and swith (dimmer) 2 to the first recessed, which will go to second recessed then from second to the third? By the way I'm thinking 14/2 because its connecting to a 15 amp breaker.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi! I recently bought the Very Hungry Caterpillar bedding for my toddler son's room. Its adorable! Problem is I can't find any corresponding wall art to decorate the rest of his room with. The artwork itself seems a very simple design, and while I could probably freehand the caterpillar and butterfly on his walls, I'm a bit scared to do anything so permanent. Any ideas on how to create a large caterpillar and medium butterfly using easy to find materials? Felt, tissue paper, whatever. I welcome your ideas and concepts! You could really have a lot of fun, incorporating the food, the sun, etc... found in the book!

Here's a link to the bedding itself:

Thanks people!!!

I've lived in the same place for almost ayear and never had a problem with my garbage disposal until now. I turn it on and it makes a buzzing noise but it doesn't grind anything. It's pretty full too. I have no I idea what's wrong. I've never lived by myself before so I have never had to deal with this. Are you supposed ti empty it or something? I am completely clueless. Thanxs!
