of the time, however hasn't gone off once since I've installed the high end gutter guards. My question is, would the gutter guards effect the sump filling with water? Or has the ground around my new home (house is new construction) settled?

That is fine, the water table just dropped since you got better gutters that drain the water away from the house.

My sump only gets water in it when we irrigate our fields. After we irrigate the water table goes back down.

The gutters did take care of the water problem but, leave it alone as long as it doesn't bother anything. About the time you take it out your going to have a heavy rainfall and your going to be looking for a sump pump and how to pump your basement. Let well enough alone.

Maintain it, use WD-40 to loosen it up and some oil on the float parts then make sure it works well and then, forget it.
