By too long I mean like, 10-50 years. I want a tree that shades in 5 years or less. If you only know the name of one, that's fine because I can look it up. Thanks to all who answer :).

I live in eastern Virginia, away from the shore.

I'm trying to run an extra piece of moulding going up a staircase. How do I cut the angle to do this? There is a framed doorway at the bottom of the stairs that the new moulding will need to fit up against.

I have 3 tomato plants that have an abundance of fruit on, however they are still green. As people in the UK will know we haven't had the best of weather as far as the sun goes so I am a bit worried that they are going to stay green.

I picked one and put it on the window sill where it gets the sun every morning, but is just went wrinkly but stayed green!

Is there anything else I can do to help them ripenI know I can make Green Tomato Chutney but would like to try a couple more things first.

Thanks

I know it can be done easily because where I come from it's done all the time. The problem is I've never done it and I cannot get ahold of anyone back home. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks for your time.

I am 56, going back to lawn and shrubs and I don't know much about shrubs, I know if I spray round up around dahlias it will kill them all by leeching. At this season in zone 7, what would be my best way to dig up a few perennials to move to the back yard and then kill weeds, smooth out and put in lawn there. I know how to do all but what to use to kill weeds before new lawn and saving shrubs, newly planted ones, or should I just dig them up too and put on hold ??? thanks so so much

I've been told several different methods in cutting startings off of my philodendron plant. One person says to cut off at least three nodes down from leaf, another says to cut where leaf branches off and set it in water until roots start producing from it. If I make cut between nodes, does it matter where the cut is made as far as being right above, below, or in between nodes? And should I set them in glass of water, until they produce roots?

Could I put a mattress pad over it to balance the lack of support in the corners, since the fiber bed looks like it is in small squares...if you understand what I am saying.

My kitchen and tile floor are suddenly infested with many TINY gray bugs. I have looked at pictures of fleas, termites, etc. and I can't figure out what they are. They are so small I can't count how many legs they have. They seem to be oval shaped, in a single body segment, and crawl (no hopping, jumping, etc.) They are not spiders, ants, or anything common that I have ever seen before. HELP! 10 points to the best answer, and a million thanks if you can send a link to a pic with this mystery bug attached!

I was looking at the Presto CoolDaddy Electric Deep Fryer. There is someone in our house who has breathing problems and I have been unable to fry for about 4 years. I really miss my homemade fried foods. I really need to know of a deep fryer you have personally used that gives off only a small odor that can be eliminated when sitting under a stove ventilator fan or one that does not give off any odor at all. Please be specific. Thanks.

I understand I need a special Moen tool to remove the cartridge from a tub faucet.

I can't remove the screw that goes through the center of the plastic faucet handle. It's a single-handle faucet that has broken.

The screw rotates either left or right when I turn it with a screwdriver, but it won't loosen.

Any suggestions?

I need to cut some shapes out of 0.8mm thickness stainless steel using a CNC router and I basically need to know if it is possible. Importantly, the cutting tip size must be no larger than 1.5mm. It would be OK to cut through the stainless steel on more than one pass. I'm just thinking that the cuttting blade would go blunt almost immediately. Would a diamond tipped cutter blade do the trick. If it is possible what would be the best cutter blade to use?

The tiled floor of our recreation and patio area has been mopped each week with hot water for the past three months. However, lately I've seen a build-up of ingrown dirt or scum which has caused the paver tiles to discolour badly. What is the best method to strip the dirt from the tiles without affecting the grout and then maintain the tiles in a clean condition for the future?
