Check out the local Colleges. Some have adult woodworking classes at night. That may help. Tool rental places will rent you the tool for a small fee and deposit, by the hour.

Check with your local vo-tech or High School. They have woodworking courses and sometimes you can supply the materials and the prints and they will have a student cut it out for free for you. Have you check with friends that may know some one. I have a woodworking shop but I won't let people use it. I have made pieces for them for a fee depending on what it is and what tools were needed. The last job I did for 25 bucks to make one part because of the machines I had used, I used six different machines with six different set ups.

I kinda like the answer about College, or better, a trade school, where they may offer shop time. I have to say this however.

Anyone doing so, commercially or educationally, would have to have HUGE liability insurance. That isn't the issue if you rent or buy a tool. Once you have it, and perhaps injure yourself, OH WELL...not their problem.

Admittedly it's a decent idea, but again, the insurance costs for walk-in's would be outrageous, as well as any type of instructing or monitoring time.

Connect too with local wood shops/ furniture makers; perhaps if the task is small enough, and you offered to pay; they might be compassionate.
