I know it can be done easily because where I come from it's done all the time. The problem is I've never done it and I cannot get ahold of anyone back home. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks for your time.

You have to change the orifice - the fitting with the small hole in it that regulates the pressure drop for the gas coming in. Some stoves come with a replacement in a different color in an envelope fitted inside, others you have to buy. Since you are going TO propane, look up propane equipment suppliers in the Yellow Pages and ask about orifices for your brand of stove.

Certainly # 1 & 2 have valid suggestions; and it's not strictly a job for a DIY.

My question might be WHY? unless natural gas is unavailable. Most Natural would be less expensive than Propane, IF available. Certainly the keyword is availability; BUT if you're having to go that route; a propane distributor might not only supply you with Tanks, but all the lines and fittings as well.

Obviously any answer might; or might not, relate to you in YOUR location, with access, etc.

Depending on where you live you should call the gas company and ask them . Where we are it is against the law because of the danger of blowing something up. It is not a job for a non professional. It cost us $30.00 to have one switched to propane.

You need to change all the orifices in the oven and the burners. If your stove is fairly new the spare orifices and instructions to change them should have come with it. If not, you will need to contact the stove manufacturer or an appliance repair facility to obtain the parts and instructions you need.
