I have roughly a 2 x 3 ft area in my living room carpet that got wet during some severe thunderstorms last week (rain actually seeped in through the shut windows). Anyways, how do I get this water out of my carpet? I tried just using paper towels to soak up the water and have gone through an entire roll on one spot, and it's still wet!! (dryer than before, but still wet). Is there a quick fix household remedy? I'll totally appreciate it! Please let me know!

I live in a cold weather state (Michigan). I was wondering if it's worth bothering with the small greenhouses you see in catalogs for about $2000. How much do they really extend your season and are there any advantages over just using coldframes?

There are holes about the size of a dime bit into my tomatoes both ripe and unripe. It does not appear to be attacking the leaves or stems. I have not caught any critters in the act of tomato sabatoge, but if I do, boy are they going to get it!! Does anyone know what could be the possible invader? I did see a dark green spotted caterpiller on the stalk of the plant two weeks ago. I relocated him out of my garden. Could it be caterpillers or some other critter? What would be the best to do? I would like to enjoy as many tomatoes as I can before the end of the summer.

I am a pretty good DIY plumber and an okay DIY electrician. However, in every home where I had to do the work always had a basement or crawl space. I am getting ready to buy a house without either and my question is:

How do you access the plumbing and electrical if you can't get to it from the basement. I know it's in the walls and I will probably have to cut sheet rock to get to it. But I guess what I'm really asking is how do you detect where the exact problem is? Whether it be a leaky pipe or running an extra outlet.

I guess I will have to access wiring from the attic but still not sure about plumbing.

Thanks.

I don't mean to gross you, but a method I've found. A squirrel was run over and paralised. Couldn't move, except for slithering on its stomack near my tomato plants. I dispatched it and it bled. Other squirrels have avoided the area.

My wife and I are having our first child in April. We currently have two guest bedrooms, one of which will be converted into a nursery. The room that will remain a guest bedroom is 10' x 11' and we are having a debate about which bed we should use.

Option 1:
A full size bed with a nice headboard and matching dresser. The full size mattress is very cheap, light, and not very comfortable.

Option 2:
A queen size metal bed frame, with no headboard or matching dresser. This bed has a very nice, comfortable mattress.

The first looks much better, the second is much more comfortable. Which would you choose?
