this morning I broke my favorite coffee mug I got while in college. It's like the ceramic kind - the only thing broken on it is the handle got broken off.....i'm not real "handy" but can this be fixed and what can I buy at like Wal Mart, Target, etc. to fix this?

Ignore the previous advice! Gorilla glue is too thick and likely will turn brown. Crazy glue will eventually loosen, something you don't want happening when you have a full cup of coffee!

Go to a good hardware store and get Duro / Duco (?) crystal clear two part epoxy. Get the one hour kind, not the five minute kind. Mix it well with a Popsicle stick or disposable utensil according to the directions on a paper plate. Coat both sides of the break with a thin coating. Carefully stick together and hold with black stretchy electrical tape or just lay the cup between some towels so that the handle balances on the cup correctly.

Throw the paper plate and the mixing utensil away.

Wait at least 48 hours before you use it. If you perform the bonding well, your cup should hold up well for a good number of additional years. Do check the handle occasionally to be sure the bond is holding and hand wash the cup as the dishwasher will take years off of anything.

If you have a little over-spill on the glue, you can scrape it off with a razor blade.

ok, glue it together as an exercise but don't use it for coffee afterwards. it will give you practise for when an expensive antique vase gets dropped! when I glue, I use insulating tape to hold the pieces together wile they set. put the whole mug together at once, if you try to glue a couple of pieces at a time they can get at the wrong angle araldite is good

Being it is only the handle, you can use Gorilla glue. I think that is what it is called. It seems to be much better than Super Glue.
My husband is in construction and he swears by it.

if you use it for coffee- i wouldn't trust any glue (coffee's hot) i would face the broken handl to a wall (or even glue it) and use it as a pencil cup.

There's a guy called Ronald Mallett who is a physicist and he is actually trying to invent a time machine. No joking! So the best bet would be to leave it until he does and then go back in time, give your young self a slap for being so clumsy and perhaps hide it somewhere she won't find it. Hope this helps.
