I recently cut 2 out of control rose bushes down to a stump. They are now growing back rapidly - one is about 4 feet high. They are quite spindly. Any ideas on how to support them as they grow?

ive bought some new metal light switches which will be flush with the wall, however the decrease in space between the plate and box in the wall leaves a little gap which obviously is not safe.
I think you can square piece of plastic which sits between the wall/ box and the plate for the light switch but not sure what is is called and where i can get them from.

I have very hard water that leaves a thick film on my dishes in the dishwasher, and I want to know if lemon or vinegar would help fix the problem, and if it would be safe for the dishwasher. I know that lemon would be safe, but will vinegar be safe if I put it in the dishwasher with the dishes, and would it work?

i have a serious problem with ants that has been going on all summer. usually ants have a trail that will lead you to the spot where they entered, but there isnt. most of them keep appearing in the bathrooms so im thinking that they are coming up the drains and it keeps getting worse. i have tried a lot of sprays and baits but nothing seems to work. i was wondering if anybody knows of and can recomend anything that really trully works on getting rid of and killings ants. so, anyone??

Is it just the estate agents fees (I have been quoted 1.65% by Halifax to sell my house valued at £150,000), or does the seller have other fees like do I have to get a solicitor or anything else to sell? (Ignore the HIPS fees).

Thanks

Its always the same beep pattern, 4 beeps, but it only does it sometimes. They come through computer speakers, alarm clock, and baby monitor. Also, the computer screen surges sometimes when it happens. I think it may be some electrical interference. Is this something to be concerned about?

And how are they installed? I want the beams to look as real as possible but I don't want to go with real wood. They're just too heavy and I'm afraid of rotting, warping, etc.

I want to plant a lot of flowers for next spring, and flowers that will be in bloom all summer/fall. I want to plant them now from seed, indoors.

What are some good choices for flower beds and such and will they be big and have nice blooms? When should I plant the seeds, so that they are like the ones you would buy in stores (full plant size)?

My landlord consistently doesn't follow through on repairing things in my apartment. I've currently got two sinks with broken faucets, a broken dryer, and a deck built of rotten wood that's about to fall down (my neighbor actually fell through her deck and all he did was patch the hole). In the past he's neglected to fix the heat in my apartment for two days and failed to pay the water bill until the water was finally shut off. Is there anything I can do legally or am I responsible for fixing these things? Thanks!

Hello,

I just installed a bunch of CFTs, but a few of them are blinking rapidly. Why is this? Can it be avoided? Are they just cheap bulbs?

Thanks,
Graham

I have a very nice Mobile but it is older, a 1973 actually. Since its been so hot here about 106* or Higher I have had to use my air conditioner. I have it on 84 because it I figured it would be lower on my bill and it also feels really good. Well the problem is that even at 84* the air conditioner is still running all day and my bills are 170-200.00 every month. I don't understand, Does anyone know what the problem could be, I turn it off at night & when it DOES click off at 84 if I turn it down to 82 then it won't even go that low unless its a cooler day outside. Could it be the insulation in the house or the windows leaking ? If anyone has any ideas what I could do to reduce my bills or if something might be wrong with the air conditioner it would be appreciated. Thanks !!

Another thing, I just bought the house LAST October & just realized she has tin foil in some of the vents...does anyone know what that is for ...?

my mom wants to plant strawberrys even tho the seasons over but she wants to do it anyways. the only thing is that our backyard is filled with tiles, no dirt. it use to have grass and concrete but my dad just made a patio with tile flooring and decided to have the whole backyard cover with tile. is there a way to make a small garden with using planters. i have seen my neighbor with this type of brick but she tells me that the contractor didnt use concrete. how did they do it?. beside having a brick wall, how can i break the tile without damaging the other tile. my dad broke one before by using an axe but it brok another two without even touching it. this was during the installtion of the tile. note: the tiles are made out of porcelain. thanks

Our bedroom has the baseboards all around the edges of the bottom wall and our bed is as far against the wall as it will go but because of the baseboard every time we get in bed it bangs against the wall, is there like one of those doorknobs bangers or anything that can keep this from happening to contain that space in between the bed and the wall?

I am a natural pack-rat, thus my room is a complete sty. My room is fairly large but you can no longer see the floor as it's covered with clothes (both clean and dirty), trash, an exercise machine, lots and lots of books and papers, craft supplies, etc. I would like to clean my room in the next few days...any thoughts and suggestions? And, how can I *keep* my room clean and organized?

My bathroom is also very gross and needs help. What cleaning supplies do you recommend?

my husband and I are wanting to paint our bathroom. I have this cute european print curtain. It looks like a street right out of italy and it has flowers and a cafe' on it. I would like a color to go with the curtain. To compliment it you know. It has purple, green, blue, pink, yellow, orange, maybe a little bit of red and black. So what do you say...
