There are several ways to clean car windows. One is the quick an easy, I usually use this for the day to day. And the other one is use for "deep" cleaning. I only use this when I am detailing (since it is a pain in the ...).

For day to day, use my chamy to clean most of the dirt (after I wash my car) and Armor All Glass Cleaner. Using a lint free cloth. This works best on a hot days in the shade but it is harder as you can only do small sections at a time.

For detailing, I polish the windows using one of many glass polishers, it is specially a pain inside the car since it is a 2 step process. This is best done on warm days (on the shade). The results are amazing but again it is a pain.

I heard that shaving cream works well. Also keeps the windows from fogging up. I've tried this on the mirrors and windows in the bathroom but not on the car. Just spray on and wipe with a paper towel, newspaper, etc.

Simple, simple, simple, use newspaper. Wad it up and wipe away the greasy film that is on the inside of all car windows and do not smoke in the car cause that will cause the windows to develop a cloudy, greasy film that is difficult to get off.
