My wife and I are having our first child in April. We currently have two guest bedrooms, one of which will be converted into a nursery. The room that will remain a guest bedroom is 10' x 11' and we are having a debate about which bed we should use.

Option 1:
A full size bed with a nice headboard and matching dresser. The full size mattress is very cheap, light, and not very comfortable.

Option 2:
A queen size metal bed frame, with no headboard or matching dresser. This bed has a very nice, comfortable mattress.

The first looks much better, the second is much more comfortable. Which would you choose?

Use the more comfortable bed. Most people have a difficult time sleeping in a strange bed and if it's uncomfortable that make it even harder to get a good nights rest.

If the queen size has no headboard there's nothing to match, so you could use any dresser or chest that you like to finish out the decor.

I think I would go for option 2, b/c I think a good night's sleep is much more appealing than a good looking room. I would, however, paint it really nice & buy some attractive bed clothes to make the room look as good as it can.

1] use number two, add the dresserfrom room #1, and buy a brass or upholstered headboard.
2] make sure room has good reading lamps, and a chair if possible.
