I have rescued a really heavy down filled blanket from the lake. I really want to freshen it up and put a cover over it and use it. The problem is after being stored up for over 20 years at the cabin it smells musty. Is there any great ways to get the musty smell out of this blanket or will it remain with the blanket forever because of the feathers?

... can be planted on a small boulevard ? I am in southern Ontario... and have an annoying neighbour that won't stop cutting my boulevard down to the dirt. I want to plant something there that I can put a low edging around. The plants would need to be perennial.

Anyone know what type of oil would be in a kitchen meat grinder? The bolts wern't tight on ours and the oil leaked out thru the cork seal so it's close to a 1/8 cup low and the seal needs to be replaced. Just wondering what kind of oil would have been in there to replace it.

we have a brick fireplace on one wall of our living room and it's pretty, but there used to be a wood burning stove hooked up to it and now that we've taken it out I would like to do something decorative with the opening but I'm not sure what to do.

We just got done mudding the taped drywall. We used 2-3 coats of the mud on it. Then we applied primer to the wall. Unfortunately now that the primer is on we can see the areas we mudded, like stripes running down the wall. How can we fix this problem? Will the stripes show after we apply the paint to the walls? Should I sand these areas down even though the primer is on it already? Don't know what to do? This is our first attempt at mudding drywall!

I have these really great, old bronze cabinet pulls but the problem is theyve turned black with age and grime. I can sort of scratch through the layers a bit and I have one out of the set thats still much more shiney and grime free, I was wondering if I could soak the black ones in hydrogen peroxide to make them look like new again ? Could anything bad happen ? Or would you suggest cleaning them some other way ?

The oven will not turn on or heat up at all. However, the top burners work just fine, as normal. What could be the issue? I've never seen this happen before.

Well...

I recently bought a very nice tee shirt, and it fits me perfectly, but I wanted it to loosen a bit, instead of hugging my torso.

Is there ANYTHING I can do about it? Other then getting a larger size?

Should I stretch it, or put in the washing machine?

Thanks in advancee :)

I have a rug that used to be in our playroom and has a bit of a stain already. I would hate to just throw it out since it is rather cute. I am turning a screened in patio area into an outdoor art and play space for my children and was wondering if I could use the rug down there? What dangers are there to doing this, if any?
