Hi! We just installed vinyl flooring in our kitchen (it's the kind with fiberglass in it that is bendy...a little padded). I was curious what I should seal it with to protect it from getting messed up.... I have two doggies that run in and out. Is there some sort of wax, or clear coat or something you recommend? Thank you!

Water does not work in the AM. The pressure has to be turned on outside almost every morning. Once that's done, it works fine the rest of the day. Any suggestions??

generally speaking, how many hours would an old refrigerator's compressor run in a day? my old one run all day. the freezer reaches 0 and the compartment reaches 50 degrees of F. I tested the temperature control and found it works. Why the compressor did not stop? Please tell me some other possible reasons. Thank you.

I was thinking....
how can i melt my old gold and silver chains down to make nuggets or maybe little bars?
Will they melt with a blowtorch? What would I put them in to melt them. I don't want to have to buy anything. I want to use stuff laying around my garage.

My master closet already has a light and a switch. i bought this door jamb switch and I thought i had it wired properly, but the circuit breaker trips when i turned it back on.

There are currently 3 black wires and 3 white, plus ground. Three hot wires are tied together with one continuing on in the circuit and 2 going to the switch, one exits the switch and goes to the light. Pretty simple.

I cut a 4" piece of black wire and connected it with the blacks coming from the wall and the other end to the current switch. then i connected the black wire (from a new piece of romex) to the switch and routed the other end to the jamb switch. i connected all the neutrals in the original switch box and the other neutral to the neutral on the jamb switch. All the grounds are also connected. Turning the breaker on it trips immediately. i bought 12 ga wire thinking it was a 20 Amp breaker but it is only 15 amps?

Apologies if this is confusing, please answer this detailed.

The house is one story with a gable roof and approximate dimensions are 25 ft wide and 40 ft deep.

What is a reasonable price to pay someone to put vinyl siding on the house? It is located in a far western suburb of Chicago.

No matter how much i change my furniture around in my room, tidy up or anything iget bored with it and no longer find it appealing. I spend most my time in my room and like it to be cosy. I am making a large raised bed from bricks for my mum in the garden so she doesn't have to bend so low to tend the garden.

It is two bricks thick, has piers for strength etc.

My question is, Do I have to put a DPC or even a DPM in the bed?

The earth will be touching the bricks obviously.....or should it? Do I put a membrane down the inside of the bed over the brick?

This website, http://www.pavingexpert.com/featur03.htm shows (if you scroll down) the use of one in a retaining wall.

Do I need it in my raised bed?

Please help!!

The mirror is a plain slab that is mounted to the wall by four plastic things. Its the typical bathroom mirror that you see. I have watched some of the design shows and have watched them add a border and do other cool things. I can't remember what and how....does anyone know?

We just bought a house and we found out certain lights do not want to work. The kitchen lights don't work, it is a florescent light and there is a light over the sink. Then the light in the living room does work. What do I need to do it get these working, oh and also the vent hood doesnt work. See these things were all working during the final walk thru of the house. Then after the power company turned off the power and then turned everything on these things stopped working.

I purchased my home one year ago. I had a home inspection done. My home is on a crawl space. Shortly after moving in, I noticed some cracks appearing in a doorway and then on the ceiling above my cabinets. I could then tell they had been covered up previously. Now my sons ceiling has cracked all the way across it. The floors are giving. I have had two companies come and inspect the crawlspace. The main support beam is giving and is made of 2x4's. The floor joists are 2x6's. New cracks are now now coming daily. I contacted the home inspection company and they have stated they did not have to tell me the support beam was 2x4's. One floor joist had been cut into and spliced back together. They said they did not have to tell me about that also. I do not have the money these companies want to fix this mess. My house may go into foreclosure over this. Is the home inspection company telling me the truth? Was it ok to use 2x4's for the main support beam & they did not have to revea
