Organization is the key. And don't let things build up. Do a little each day and on Saturday do the big stuff. I always make sure things are picked up before I go to bed and on Saturday give the house the old once over for deep cleaning. I have a five gallon bucket with all the cleaners, sponges, rags, etc. I keep it in the laundry room and take it with me wherever I go in the house. It holds a plastic bag on the side for stuff found that needs to be thrown away. I do all the dusting, washing, polishing, THEN I vacuum. That way I can just dust things onto the floor and get them later with the vacuum.

I have a cleaning "routine" that I follow everyday...

When I wake up in the morning I go into the bathroom and wipe all the surfaces down with antibacterial wipes and clean the mirror.. Then once a week or more I get my spray bottle with 50/50 bleach/water and spray the tile/tub surround and let that sit.. I also turn off the water valve to the toilet and pour in about 2-3 cups of bleach and let that sit for 30 min.. I use the same 50/50 solution to clean counter's and sink.. Wear old clothes for this so you don't ruin anything.. I then sweep/mop floor. It takes about 15 min... To Deep clean the bathroom since I keep up with it during the week....

I do the same in the kitchen- I wipe the counters/surfaces with antibacterial wipes and the appliances, high chairs etc.. I unload the dishwasher/re load while the kids are eating... Wipe out the sink and sweep the floor.. Once a day I mop usually at night after dinner... I also clean out the fridge once a week the day before garbage goes out...

I vacuum once a day and I dust once a week... I change my furnace/AC filter monthly so dust/dirt arent' too bad..

I'll also start a load of laundry every night before bed and put it in the dryer when I wake up... That cuts down on having to do it all in one day...

I like to keep the kids toys in baskets or a toybox and they help clean up at the end of the night.... My children are 1 yr. and 3 yrs.... My husband also does help with the cleaning...

Take one room per day and clean from top to bottom.

Swish out the commode each morning.

Vacuum once per week or more if needed.

Dust if needed.

Wash as soon as you have enough for a tub full. Don't let it build up.

Take breaks so you will not get exhausted.

just a simple rule of thumb..Everything has a place and everything in its place. It may take years to accept this rule but when you do you will wonder why you didn't do that sooner. It saves lots of money as well. It took me years and I am still getting rid of unnecessary things.
