Did you give baking soda a shot? If you leave it on there for a day, even if it gets ground in; it'll eat the odor out of the carpet and dry up the mold. Then when you vacuum, through down a carpet deoderizer with baking soda in it to double up the baking soda. It should work, if not, you may have to shampoo again and go over the same spot repeatedly just to get out the mold if the baking soda doesn't do it.

Sprinkle some baking soda on the carpet; you can get the 5 # bag at Sams fairly cheap.
Let set for a couple of hours and then vacuuming, turn on some circulating fans to help dry the carpet.

You may want to clean the carpet again....and this time get some fans running in the room or a dehumidifer to soak up the excess water.... However, at the very least TRY putting some baking soda on the carpet and letting it sit overnight and vacuum it up... in the morning good luck

Wait for a dry day. Wash it again and rinse with a bleach solution. Rent an air blower for drying floors. Open the windows and it won't stink. Either that or replace the rug.
