I have rescued a really heavy down filled blanket from the lake. I really want to freshen it up and put a cover over it and use it. The problem is after being stored up for over 20 years at the cabin it smells musty. Is there any great ways to get the musty smell out of this blanket or will it remain with the blanket forever because of the feathers?

If it's not too worn or ripped you can take it to the local laundrymat and wash it with regular detergent in the double capasity washers and use reg. detergent with about 1/2. C of baking soda in the wash water.... This will help get rid of the musty smell.. Then dry it with some tennis balls to keep it fluffy.. With some dryer sheets ..Good luck
