Does anyone know the best way to secure a fence gate to the house? The walk way in our yard follows along the side of the house from front to back. Being we are only putting up a fence in our back yard, it makes sense to place the fence gate across the walk way. However, we are not sure how to secure the gate to the house. We want the gate to open on the house side, so we will put hinges on the fence post across from the house. Do we just attach the latch of the gate to the house directly, or do we need to anchor a post to the house somehow? (we can't sink the post into the ground as the walkway is there and is made out of concrete).

Hi, I heard that furniture is oftentimes sourced and made in North and South Carolina. I was wondering how to go about finding reputable wholesale dealers that could ship furniture to me for a home.

Thanks.

The dryer's model number is " DG350RXW2 ".

The "O" above is a zero, not the letter "o".

The serial # is XD404416xxx. Again, the "0" is a zero, not the letter "o".

Can you identify this dryer, and you can you provide any information on its date of manufacture, etc.? I need to know because I might need to order some parts for it. Thanks to all those who can really help here.

...I have a poison ivy problem. I live in the Mid-Atlantic.
First, how do I get rid of the poison ivy problem without harming the surrounding vegetation and soil?
Second, does the land need time in between the eradication of the poison ivy and propogation?
Third, should I use any composting material after eliminating the poison ivy or will this be irrelevant with regards to the poison ivy? And...
Fourth, how concerned should I be about this poison ivy problem in light of beginning a vegetable garden? After all, the vegetables are going to eventually go into the stomachs of my family and I am concerned for any poison ivy "residuals".

Please, only serious responses will be welcomed and professionals/educators are a bonus.

Thank you.

I've just bought a bumbo on ebay for my baby, it's second hand and smells a little bit of cigarette smoke (not hugely, but enough to bother me). I've soaked it in the bath with sterilising fluid and it's improved a bit... I just wondered if anyone knows how I could get rid of the smell completely.
FYI the bumbo is made from polyurethane foam.

When I plug something in I have to physically hold on to the outlet because it moves. In our son's room I was able to tighten up the screws that hold the actual plug in the box and it was fixed however I tried it in my kitchen and the plug ended up being flush with the wall itself. Instead of replacing box and repositioning it is there any such thing as spacers or washers I can safely use to bring the plug forward without replacing all?

I'm at the end of my tether. I bought a new washing machine thinking that it might be different from the previous one. I've experimented with different washing powder, cheap and expensive both leave the same result.

Random white soap stains after my clothes dry on dark clothing. I've tried washing and drying dark clothing inside out, hoping that the stains would be void from the outside, but no... Should there be a specific temperature for washing dark clothing, and limiting to how much i put in the washing machine in one wash? Any other settings that should be changed?

This mobile home is in very good condition and i will be moving it to a 1 acre track that I own. I would like some advice about setup and whether or not it would be a good idea to make a few changes to the interior.
I'm going to put the home on concrete runners and from what i understand the home will be approximately 18 to 24 inches off the ground after it is put into place. My question is why does it need to be so high off the ground? I would like it to look as much like a site built home as possible(just my preference). Can i set the home lower than 18 inches? I own the home outright. If I do set it up lower than the usual 18 inches will that prevent me from selling later? Comments please.
Another thing is it doesn't have tape and texture on the inside. I am thinking about adding drywalls to the living room and master bedroom. Is this a good idea? Would i need to take the paneling off or just put it over it? How costly would this be if i did it myself? Together its about 370 sqft.

I think it's a type of birch tree, about 50 ft tall with a canopy of 30 ft maybe (just guessing), and it's right against the fenceline of our yard. It's a beautiful tree, but the shallow roots take up the entire space of yard on one side of our house (the distance from the fence to house is about 10 ft). It's getting very difficult to walk on them and we'd like to dig the roots up and put in some paving stones. Will this kill the tree? If it doesn't kill the tree will the roots just grow back and damage the walkway? Any suggestions??

The Maytag Man has guaranteed me that if I reinforce the floor under my laundry room my front load washer won't "walk" around the room anymore. The machine is made to--I don't know--- dispense it's energy through the bottom he says which has been causing my floor to vibrate excessively which is making the machine move and sound like a hurricane in my home. I am pretty handy, but am at a loss on how to even start this "simple" project. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! the machine has actually ripped a hole into the new vinyl flooring. I am at my wits end. I have a crawl space.
