Try buffing the dull spot out and back to a shine with a VERY LIGHT sandpaper, FINE steel wool, or rough nylon stocking. Stop if it starts getting worse instead of better. You may have to re-lacquer it.

Nothing you can do in the immediate. The acetone 'bleached' the wood stain on your table. You'll need to find a matching stain and either touch it up if you need it covered ASAP, or sand the entire table down and refinish the whole thing.

If the remover soaked through into the wood, you are going to have to refinish it, or at least the portion that is stained. To remove the stain, apply a paste made from oxalic acid crystals. Oxalic acid is poisonous, so use care. That will also bleach rust stains from old nails out of wood.

You don't because it is not a stain. The acetone took off the finish of the wood, most likely. It would have to be refinished. i did that once in high school on my moms end table. She wasn't happy.

I take it that the remover has stripped the varnish off the wood, and it has soaked down into the grain of the wood.
I think the only thing you can do is to strip the table down to bare wood and sand it, then stain it, and put a poly urethane finish on it, for protection.
I hope that someone esle can think of a better way. But I think that is going to be what you have to do. good luck.

All of the above is true, however if you are having guests and need to hid it try finding a crayon the same color (brown? ) and rubbing that over it. Cover with a cloth, table runner, doily, pretty napkin and a vase of flowers or candy or even a candle. If it's off center make a grouping (usually 3) of things. Good luck.

It isn't a stain;-{ it's removed the table finish.
You'll need to get the table-top refinished.
Talk to your friendly Home Depot paint man.
Or find a furniture refinisher in your area.

Sorry to tell you this but there is nothing you can do about it. Polish remover removes the wood stain and urethane. The only thing you can do is redo the table. Sorry.... My daughter ruined her dresser this way also..:)

For 100% removal you should have it wet sanded and refinished. I've read elsewhere that you can apply mayonnaise and cigarette ashes to the damaged spot to reduce the stain. Not sure how effective this process is because I've never tried it myself.

My husband set a cologne bottle on a wooden cabinet & it left a white ring. I used a pecan & rubbed it on the ring. The oil from the nut did the trick & you couldn't tell where the ring was. Good luck...
