I live in a townhome.
I was changing the water in my aquarium, i had a bucket of water sitting on a chair .. my cat came along, jumped onto the bucket and knocked it over :)

I noticed a few hours later that there was water spots on my ceiling down in the living room.

I put a fan on the water spot upstairs and it dryed pretty fast. Can i just pain over those spots with a special kind of paint?

This didn't cause any severe damage under the carpet did it?

Just wondering what the best way was, to take care of this situation without owing my apartment complex.

What time of year do you plant daylilies if you live in New England, USA? Because I work a lot I am looking to redo my garden areas with plants that take little fussing. I love the yellows of the Day Lillies and was thinking going with these or some similar lillies (do they have any varieties that actually flower in Blue?)

Thank you!!

We are considering buying the house we are now renting. It was built in the 60's and we are getting a pretty good price on it. It has a crawlspace underneath, so it's easy to get at the plumbing. One time a handyman, not really a pro, told us he thought our pipes might have been recalled. They are gray and flexible. Does anyone know about this? Are all plumbing pipes flexible?

I have seen both. I was wondering if anyone could advise me whether I should install the fan with a vent through the attic or with a vent right through the interior wall to the outside?

What are the pros and cons of both? Thanks alot.

Does anybody know of a website which offers a guide with illustration on how to remove them. I tried to cut between the puppies and the main plant straight down, ( I thought I could get a little bit of roots) but it did not come with any roots just the stock. I planted this without root and it died. I am a soldier in Germany my banana plant is winterhard or so the nursery said. Now I have a mother with about 6 babies. Can someone help tell me how to cut and replant these.? Any ideas how I can take extra precaution by protecting the plant leave for the winter, how about canvas over the plant like a tent .?
Thank you all in advance

Our carpet was never replaced before we moved in, we have a screen door that has been broken forever and we want to ask our landlord to put in a new, working screen door and new carpeting (We've been here for more than 5 years and the carpets are so worn out and have a bunch of stains from the old tenant) but can he charge us to get these done?

I live in north Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth area) and I have a question about a moonflower vine. It has been growing nicely in a large pot, but it has developed three large bulbs with little green tips sticking out of the end of them. I am not sure what to do with the bulbs. I know that they are not flower buds, they are larger than the flowers we have had, and have been there quite a while without any kind of blooming.

I actually cracked one open, and it looked like a large seed inside. The second one appears to be drying out, and the third looks very much alive. Could you please tell me if these need to be removed and planted?

I just purchased an old converted corner grocery store in New Orleans Garden District. It has no heating system. I will be forced to use window units without heaters until i can get central air and heat installed which unfortunately will not be this year.

what is a safe way to heat my home?

I'm moving into a new apartment but they do not allow painting the walls. They are plain white and I hate them. Does anyone know how to put color to a whole wall/room without paint? I know paintings are good but its not enough for one wall. Thanks in advance.

his is no joke!! My bathroom sink has been clogged for a while. 2day, I accidentally got a hair clip (like this: http://www.flashsales.com/images/scunci/... --except bigger)
stuck in the already-clogged sink!! In the process of trying to get it out with tweezers & scissors, it got even more stuck--i can't even reach it, and neither can the scissors......it's really stuck.
How do I get it out!?!?!?! I don't really want my parents to know!!
HEEELLLLPPPP!!!!

worst case scenario, how much would a plumber cost!!????

I live in Chicago, I have unsuccessfully tried for two summers now to make my lawn look decent. I am very frustrated at this point. My lawn is approx 9000 sq ft and has some sunken in spots (few) but I believe the dirt is really compacted. It has bald patches, brown patches, weeds, you name it-It's not horrible looking, I am told, but it's not that lush green lawn I want. I've come a long way, though- the previous owner was an elderly woman that had not taken care of it in years. There was no grass to speak of really when I first moved in, so I have made progress I guess.

Sorry for rambling :) - given the area I need to take care of by myself. Is it easier to re-sod, aerate and re-seed or move away? (just kidding) ANY advice would be appreciated.

I have a home built in the Chicago area and the soil, after the initial 4-5", is all clay. In addition, my home is on a corner lot. We then dug the foundation and put a porous soil back in against the foundation, which I believe is acting like a strainer. I have a properly installed and functioning drain tile, but due to pump failure and backup pump failure, I have had water twice. I was thinking about the challenges and thought about digging up the landscape and putting clay soil back in for about 2-4 feet to help restrict the porous nature of the soil we added.

Your advice and experience is appreciated.

i found a bed bug infestation in my mattress a couple hours ago. i've been spraying cans and cans of raid and black flag and other bug killers that specialize in ants, roaches, silverfish, etc. will this kill some of them? will these bug poisons have effects on the nest? i know i've drowned a majority of the critters in it. i've used like 5 cans of spray up so far.
tomorrow i plan on goin out and buying a spray especially for this problem, such as d 20 or whatever its called.
anyone have any other solutions for this though? or tips? any help?
and no, i do not wanna hire proffessional help from this, i read online you can buy stuff that's 10 times more effective.
