Durable for what? Do you mean dishwasher safe? Child friendly? Heavy use friendly? Oven/heat friendly?

This is not ceramic dishware--it is pottery with a ceramic glaze.

Both patterns are really lovely and it says that they are durable--and that they can be baked in, so I'm sure they are dishwasher safe. However, since they are not ceramic through and through, you need to know that if one of the pieces get chipped, you will be able to see the pottery beneath the glaze. This area will stain because it is no longer protected by the fired on glaze.

Nothing beyond plastic is durable. Extra care has to be taken with all porcelains and ceramics and all will break when dropped. To that end, don't fall in love with any one pattern that you may not be able to replace pieces should they break or chip. I personally like to change out my dishes and look from time to time so I don't concern myself with durability just design.
